Each year, the SVC Foundation supports students traveling to the SVC Techcon to present their research. Hunter King is a Ph.D. candidate at TU-Branschweig where his research topic is a joint cooperation between Fraunhofer IST, Fraunhofer, ILT and Fraunhofer ISIT. They are producing a functional MEMS device using hot-wire chemical vapor deposition and gas-flow sputtering. His particular work focuses on amorphous and microcrystalline silicon layers. His presentation at the Techcon was part of the Fundamental Aspects of Coatings session and was titled “Maximizing SiH3 Radical Concentration During HWCVD Si:H Production by Means of Wire Temperature and Deposition Pressure Tuning”.
