Julien is pursuing a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of North Texas. Julien says, “My interest in vacuum coating technology comes from the fantastic capabilities of the technology that I have seen in my studies and the research being performed at my university. In the research I am performing with my university regarding tribological coatings for engines utilizing low-viscosity fuels, I have used a physical vapor deposition chamber to deposit thin films of copper and molybdenum many times to create sample testbeds. I hope to continue researching the applications of thin films wherever applicable. I wish to continue researching the technology and play my part in advancing it for future generations to come. Therefore, I wish to continue my studies past a bachelor’s and pursue a master’s and doctorate in materials science, specializing in the research of thin films and their deposition methods.”
