2019 Jim Colbridge Memorial Scholarship Announced!
Kent Thrift is the SVC Foundation’s 2019 recipient of the Jim Colbridge Memorial Scholarship awarded to students from Industry that desire to further their education in vacuum coating technology. Kent is a Coatings Process Engineer at the Church Hill, Tennessee plant for AGC, Inc. This award will sponsor Kent’s travel to the 2019 SVC Techcon in Long Beach, California to attend their excellent tutorial sessions.
Jim Colbridge, a Sales Manager at TELEMARK since 2012, was not only a mentor to all in the vacuum industry but also someone who radiated warmth, acceptance, and kindness by persistently shining a smile towards all whom he encountered. He passed away on August 19, 2018. The SVC Foundation, along with Jim’s friends and colleagues have created this scholarship in his memory. TELEMARK generously contributed an initial donation to ensure Jim’s vacuum science knowledge and legacy will live on. Jim will be forever missed, but not forgotten.
